We are delighted to invite you to our next Medicine for Members' event, 'MSK matters - supporting patient health and wellbeing', on Tuesday 27 February at 6pm. The event will showcase the incredible work of our musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy teams.
Over 20 Million people in the UK are living with an MSK condition such as arthritis, back pain and osteoporosis . These can affect your joints, bones and muscles and sometimes associated tissues such as your nerves. They can range from minor injuries to long-term conditions.
Our MSK physiotherapy teams are instrumental in supporting patients experiencing physical and emotional challenges to have a good quality of life. They encourage patients to maintain a high level of health and wellbeing to help manage their pain and prevent disease.
During the event you will have the opportunity to hear from an expert panel of speakers, who will place a spotlight on the patient journey, share top tips about how patients living with a MSK condition can take care of their health and wellbeing and the steps others can take to prevent developing a condition.
Our panel of speakers include:
- Amanda Michael, outpatient therapy service lead and consultant physiotherapist in pain management for Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital
- Emma Brooks, MSK advanced practice physiotherapy team lead and first contact practitioner service lead for Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital
- Robert Jones, MSK clinical lead Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital
- Christopher Surr, MSK advanced practitioner physiotherapist and first contact practitioner
