Three former Tottenham Hotspur players delivered Christmas gifts to staff at Barnet Hospital on Friday as part of a surprise visit.
Club ambassadors Ossie Ardiles, Ledley King and Gary Mabbutt thanked the staff for their hard work throughout the year and praised them for the incredible care they deliver to patients day in and day out.
Sabina Martin, a junior sister on Willow ward and a huge Spurs fan, was especially pleased to see them.
“It was a great honour to meet them,” she said. “My family and I are huge fans and we often go to matches. I was especially pleased to meet Ledley as I went to his testimonial and have lots of memories of watching him on the pitch.
“I had no idea they were visiting today and it was lovely treat to meet them.”
Ward clerk Gregg Taylor was equally pleased to meet the former Spurs stars.
“It was incredible to meet them,” he said. “It’s a really nice surprise to get a reward like this for what we do.
“I’m a huge fan and go to games a few times a year. I was so pleased to meet Ledley as he was a big star when I was growing up and started supporting the club.”
