Anthony Liao who has been a RFL patient for five years shared his story and spoke about the importance of early diagnosis.
He expressed his gratitude for the care that he has received and thanked our teams for everything that they have done. Watch Anthony speak about his cancer journey below:
Cancer is a key pillar of our trust’s clinical vision - we are one of the largest cancer care providers in the NHS and receive the second largest number of suspected cancer referrals in England.
Minister Smyth was also shown our elective surgical hub which is one of just eight in the country. We carry out a range of procedures across several specialities including orthopaedics, urology and ear, nose and throat. The development of the hub is a key part of our clinical vision to make Chase Farm Hospital a centre of excellence in elective surgery.
She visited our barn theatre which is only one of four in the country and heard how carrying out four operations under one roof at the same time has improved patient and staff experience and is helping us reduce our waiting lists. There was also a tour of our endoscopy and outpatient departments.
