Our nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers (HCSW) were celebrated for their exceptional care and dedication at the trust’s second annual awards.

The ceremony was attended by more than 100 colleagues, including 44 individual and team finalists, in the Royal Free Hospital (RFH) atrium.

Nearly 250 members of staff were nominated across nine different categories – almost a hundred more nominations than last year – many of whom watched the event livestream from Barnet Hospital (BH) and Chase Farm Hospital (CFH).

Group chief nurse Julie Hamilton hosted the celebrations alongside guest presenter Dame Ruth May (pictured below), chief nursing officer for England and former acting director of nursing at Barnet Hospital.

Dame Ruth said: "It was a pleasure to present these awards to recognise the contribution and commitment of nursing, midwifery and support worker colleagues. The event highlighted the difference that teams across the trust make to patients and families every day. Thank you to you all.”

Julie Hamilton congratulated all the nominees and finalists: “It is thanks to you, our brilliant nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers, whose hard work and dedication makes our trust the special place that it is. You should all feel so proud of yourselves.”

The Royal Free London group chief executive Peter Landstrom shared a special video message for all our nurses, midwives and HCSWs following the event:

The awards were proudly sponsored by the Royal Free Charity and colleagues enjoyed afternoon tea together following the ceremony in the atrium, and at BH and CFH.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
