The Royal Free London is delighted to announce the appointment of Bev Thomas as its new director of nursing at Barnet Hospital.
Bev replaces Julie Hamilton who was appointed the new group chief nurse in July. Bev will begin her role on 1 October 2020.
Bev is coming from Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust where she is currently divisional director of nursing for emergency medicine. Her nursing background is in critical care and neurosciences.
Bev said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to work for the Royal Free London. I identify with the Trust’s world class values and I intend to embrace all opportunities to contribute to and support all agendas that will lead to a positive staff and patient experience.
“I have 35 years of experience as a nurse, including 15 years of senior nursing leadership and my enthusiasm and love for nursing comes from the fact that we get to make a difference to so many lives every single day. I wish to thank the group and hospital executives for their warm welcome so far and am excited to meet all the teams very soon.”
Deborah Sanders, chief executive of Barnet Hospital, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Bev as our director of nursing. She has a wealth of experience and is absolutely committed to delivering outstanding patient and staff experience. It’s fantastic to have her on board.”
