Two independent reports have been published summarising responses to the North Central London Integrated Care System (NCL ICS) Start Well public consultation.
The reports, focusing on maternity and neonatal services and Edgware Birth Centre and children's surgery, have been prepared by the Opinion Research Service, which is the independent research organisation that has been collating the responses.
They include a detailed analysis of the consultation feedback received on behalf of the NCL ICS and NHS England Specialised Commissioning London Region.
You can read these on the NCL ICS website.
The public consultation
Over a period of 14 weeks, NCL ICS ran a public consultation and received over 3,000 responses through a variety of channels, including questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder conversations.
The consultation sought views on proposals to change how and where some maternity, neonatal, and children’s surgical services are provided. The proposals were developed with significant input from doctors, midwives, nurses, health professionals and families with experience of maternity, neonatal, and children’s emergency and planned surgical services across NCL.
Next steps
The independent reports, along with a wide range of evidence and information, will be used to develop a decision-making business case for consideration by senior clinicians and other NHS leaders in north central London and NHS England London in early 2025.
All our services continue to be open as usual.
