A report has been published on the temporary changes made to children and young people’s services in north central London (NCL) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
As part of these, children and young people’s services at the Royal Free Hospital were temporarily transferred to Whittington Health.
When implementing the changes, the NHS in NCL committed to carrying out an evaluation to ensure that any learning could be taken into the future.
UCL Partners has analysed the data and produced a report which is now available:
There is also a summary which you can read here.
Staff from across NCL, local stakeholders and patients were invited to take part in the evaluation exercise. This included:
- 39 discussion groups involving over 200 people
- 361 completed surveys and patient experience feedback forms
This insight was combined with financial information and nationally agreed outcome metrics.
Thank you to everyone who took part and provided feedback.
The report aims to present the key findings and learning that have emerged from this exercise, drawing on all the available information and describing the context of the changes.
You can read more about these changes on the North London Partners website.
