Our dieticians provide practical dietary advice, assessment and treatment for people with nutritional problems in Enfield, either at home or at one of several community clinics.
The team offer a range of services, including care and specialist assessment for clinically related nutritional problems, such as difficulty with swallowing (dysphagia), where they work jointly with adult speech and language therapists.
Our dieticians will either visit you at home or at one of our clinics.
Telephone support is also provided and the team contribute to health promotion initiatives on obesity and diabetes.

Advice and information for patients, including telephone support.

Community dietetic clinics in person, on the phone or by video call.

Home visits for housebound patients and people living in nursing homes in Enfield who have been referred to the dietetics service.

Specialist dietetic advice for diabetic patients and those with cancer, neurological or gastrointestinal (such as inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome) conditions, Coeliac disease and patients with learning difficulties.

Specialist nutritional assessment, advice and dietetic support for patients requiring home enteral (tube) feeding in community settings.

Healthy eating programmes for obesity management

Training for social care, education and voluntary sector staff, on request and subject to availability, on healthy eating to help prevent obesity, promote healthy weight loss and support diabetes patients. Training is also offered on how to identify malnutrition in adults using the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST).

Public education sessions targeted at specific sectors of the community.
Our service is available for patients who live in Enfield. If you live in Enfield, but you are registered with a GP outside of the borough, you can still access our services.
Patients who feel they would benefit from our service should discuss this with their GP or healthcare professional who will make a referral on your behalf if appropriate. All referrals are prioritised based on clinical criteria and a waiting list system is in operation.
