They work in partnership with parents, families, schools and other professionals to offer:
- Assessments to determine the communication strengths and areas of need for children and young people.
- Intervention and therapy programmes involving parents and schools.
- Support with eating and drinking skills.
- Support for children who stammer, those who have speech sound difficulties and for children with selective mutism (inability to speak in certain situations).
- Reports which summarise difficulties and the impacts on learning and interacting with others, and strategies and activities to support outcomes.
- Training to school staff.
Referrals are accepted for children and young people who live in Enfield.
Please discuss your concerns with the special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) in your child’s school who can talk you through what can be put in place to support your child and discuss a possible referral to our team.
If you would like to discuss your concerns, please call the service managers Judy Sleat or Eleanor Leeser via our main number.
