Biography
Dr Murino is a consultant gastroenterologist and gastrointestinal endoscopist at the Royal Free London NHS trust.
He became a specialist in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy in 2009 in Italy (University of Sassari) with the final score of 60/60 cum laudae.
Between 2010-2014 he completed three fellowships in advance endoscopy and gastroenterology at: St. Mark’s Institute and Academic Centre, Imperial College, London from 2010 to 2012; Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium from 2012 to 2013; Nagoya University Hospital, Nagoya, Japan from 2013 to 2014.
He then worked as consultant gastroenterologist in Italy until 2016 before joining the Royal Free Hospital.
Dr Murino's interests include endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, endoscopy dilatation, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic submucosal dissection.
He is also interested in general gastroenterology including irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux and gastrointestinal dysmotility disorders.

Dr Alberto Murino is deeply involved in endoscopy research with more than 20 publications and many presentations both a national and international medical conferences. The research project regarding the effectiveness of endoscopic ultrasonography during double balloon enteroscopy for suspected small bowel tumors, conducted during his fellowship in Japan was awarded at the UEG week: Oral Free Paper Prize UEG Week 2014.
