Dr Satheesh Iype

Biography

Mr Iype is an experienced consultant surgeon in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery (surgery of the liver and the pancreas) and liver transplantation based at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London. Mr Iype has over 15 years’ experience in this speciality, dealing with both cancer and non-cancerous conditions affecting the gallbladder, liver, bile duct and pancreas. He routinely performs complex surgical procedures for liver and pancreatic cancer and general surgical procedures for groin hernia, incisional hernia and abdominal wall swellings.

He qualified in 1997 at Mahatma Gandhi University, India. After obtaining his postgraduate training in surgery in India, he did specialist surgical training in England, mainly based at Cambridge. He was awarded M Phil from University of Cambridge in transplant surgery and has also been awarded the European fellowship in transplant surgery. He pursued further training by completing fellowships in HPB and liver transplant surgery in various prestigious units.
