Biography
Miss Patel is a Laparoscopic colorectal, emergency, and general surgery consultant, based at the North Middlesex Hospital.
She graduated from University College London and Royal Free Medical School and completed her higher surgical training in the London deanery.
Miss Patel has undertaken fellowships in laparoscopic colorectal surgery, transanal surgery (TEO and TAMIS) and abdominal wall reconstruction. She gained experience in management of pelvic floor conditions at St Marks Hospital. She also specialises in the holistic and personalised treatment of benign perianal diseases such as haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and fistulas. She is JAG accredited for both gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Miss Patel holds qualifications in leadership, coaching, change and project management.
She was awarded a Royal College of Surgeons research fellowship, allowing her to complete a research MD at the University of Leicester investigating Inflammatory Bowel disease. She also has a BSc in Physiology.
Throughout her career, Miss Patel has embraced opportunities to contribute to service development and quality improvement.
