Mr Colin Elton

Biography

Mr Elton was appointed as consultant general and colorectal surgeon at Barnet Hospital in September 2002, also working at Chase Farm Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.
He provides a high quality general, colorectal and paediatric surgical service and performs a wide variety of operations at a number of different hospitals around London.

He also performs general paediatric surgery including hernia repairs and surgery for undescended testes for babies and children. He performs minor and intermediate surgery including hernia repairs, appendicectomy, haemorrhoid surgery, pilonidal sinus, rectal prolapse and endoscopy.

As a consultant, Mr Elton has performed laparoscopic resections for colorectal cancer and introduced new haemorrhoid procedures. He is part of a team of surgeons performing robotic colorectal surgery, the only service of its kind performed in London and South East England. He has introduced a laparoscopic colorectal service and a transanal endoscopic microsurgery service for benign and malignant rectal tumours.
