The Royal Free London provides an open access, integrated tuberculosis (TB) service for both adults and children.

We are part of the North Central London TB Network and a centre for the management of complex TB and illnesses caused by non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) and other respiratory infections.

Tuberculosis symptoms

  • Cough for more than three weeks, which may be dry or productive
  • Night sweats
  • Fever
  • Weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Tiredness and fatigue
  • Swellings in the neck and other sites

Tuberculosis and mycobacterial clinics

Location: The Grove Centre, Royal Free Hospital.

Open: Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning (with a focus on latent TB infection.

Nurse led clinics and ad hoc support are also provided Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).

Paediatric TB clinic

Open alternate Wednesday mornings.

HIV and TB/Mycobacteria clinic

Location: Ian Charleson Day Centre.

Open: alternate Wednesday afternoons.

The service accepts direct email referrals from GPs via rftb@nhs.net.
